Candle Care
LIGHTING FOR THE FIRST TIME
When lighting your candle for the first time, the first burn will set the tone for candle success or failure.
Allow the candle to burn for roughly 4 hours or until the melt pool reach the edge of the jar. This creates the conditions for a proper burn throughout the life of the candle and prevents tunneling. Tunneling will prevent an even burn and will cause issues with the wicks ability to stay lit.

TRIM THE WICK

Trimming the wick is essential for a functional candle. All wicks should arrive already at the proper length. After burning the candle it is important to trim off the burnt wood and keep the wick length between 1/8 and 1/4 inch. If you do not trim the wick, especially after a long burn, the candle may not light or simply burn itself out. If the untrimmed wick happens to stay lit the flame will be much higher than it should and could cause issues with proper burning and safe candle practices. In order to trim the wick use a wick trimmer or take your fingers and snap off the burnt wood after the candle has completely cooled.

SAFE CANDLE PRACTICE

-
Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time
-
Never leave a burning candle unattended
-
Keep out of reach of pets and children
-
Never burn your candle near anything that could catch fire
-
Do not burn candle up high on a shelf near the ceiling
-
If you notice the wick has drifted towards the glass (often caused by burning the candle for over 4 hours) please discontinue using the candle. The glass could get hot and shatter.
-
Do not burn the candle once there is only 1/2 inch of wax left in the container
-
If you would like to use the very last bit of wax, place your candle jar on a jar-safe wax warmer
